We Wish You A Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas to you all – hoping you’re going to have a great one if you’ve been good! May Sandy’s Claws leave you many gifts under the tree this year. And of course, may ye bring in the New Year of 2023 with style and lots of music, dancing, and kissing. Stand under the mistletoe a good long time and see what happens!

If you’re from Scotland, may ye have a very Happy Hogmanay (or “haud Hogmanay” – one of the most important and biggest celebrations in Scotland)! There are a lot of Scot(t)s that are fans, which are very much appreciated.

A time of much merriment and gift giving as you can in the spirit of generosity as you will, and without expectations – but the best gift is being with loved ones and friends, having a wee feast and with good music playing in the background to deep laughter and fun. Pranks are good as well.

May the first person to enter your door in the New Year be a blessing to your house and home.

Some good advice might be to keep a good stock of Jameson or Black Bush on hand for guests that drop by over the holidays and into the New Year. For the tea totallers, you canny beat a good strong cup of Irish Breakfast Tea, which can be enjoyed the day through – not just at breakfast time.

Of course, back in Ireland, we’d also have plenty of soda farls and soda bread to serve guests that might drop by announced, or un-annouced. Frequently, the un-announced get togethers were the most fun! Ah, soda farls hot off the gridle and slathered in melting butter! Delicious, so they are!

And a New Years Fry Up that includes the soda farls also fried up – och my mouth is watering thinking of it, so it is!

However you celebrate it, may this Christmas and 2023 be the best ever for you!

Thank you for the seasons greetings!

That’s the perfect recipe for soda farls that you linked to! Haven’t had them in years and had the dear wife give the recipe a try. At the time, I was so hungry, my belly thought my throat was cut and I ate all of them, one right after the other!
